Valuing development
As a non-technical person embedded in our Digital & Information team, it can sometimes feel challenging to be part of the gang, but I bring something different to their dynamic and a focus on well-being and my colleagues value that contribution to the team.
Development is fully encouraged, and training is readily available for me to advance my knowledge in IT. Since working here, I have discovered a love for finance, which was recognised, and my role then developed around these skills. My development is discussed regularly and it’s really encouraging to see employees promoted around the business.
UKSBS really supports wellbeing
UKSBS has a genuine commitment to employee wellbeing and it’s a thread that runs through its flexible working approach and supportive policies. Being able to start earlier, or work a bit later around my contracted hours, is a massive benefit to me on the days I do have to do the school run.
As a Mental Health First Aider, I value the benefit of the surrounding green spaces, whether working in the office or at home, in offering a much-needed escape from the demands of the working day. Staff also have access to an Employee Assistance Programme which offers a range of support in many areas, to know that service is there is reassuring.
I enjoy working for UK SBS as it’s constantly evolving and growing, but like most places it’s the people I work with which make the role enjoyable day to day.
