National Apprenticeship Week 2025

UKSBS apprentices share their journey so far

Newsthumb

Our current apprentices embody the diversity of careers and learning levels we are able to offer. We’ve got apprentices across our business - in customer services, project management,  network engineering and cyber security. We’ve got a mixed cohort – for some it’s their first job on leaving school, for others it’s a change of career after several years working, and we also use apprenticeships to develop internal talent.

Our apprentices shared highlights and insights on their first months, focusing on the skills they are building and what they are looking forward to in their apprenticeship.

As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we asked our apprentices to reflect on their journey so far.

Sam Mitchell, an apprentice in our Project Management Office (PMO), provides some insight on the support from colleagues as he settled into his new role and the value of flexibility in enabling him to achieve his tasks, study, and challenge himself.

Ethan Price, an apprentice in our Customer Services team, shares his experience in the UKSBS apprentice programme, about the value of building his communication skills, the support he's received from his colleagues and how he enjoys networking with other apprentices.
